Blueberry Rum Smash

Check out my David Choi "By My Side" t-shirt! The little girl inside the pocket is too cute...

Beauty Escape Cosmetics Highlighter: Sandy Claws + Chimera (urgg, so purrty)

I pulled out the Revealed 2 palette to give it a few more uses to see how I really feel about it. Pulled a couple of shades from the new Mario Palette for this look and the first impressions are GOOD!!!

Order from Vanessa's Vanity from Etsy arrived today and this is how it was packaged.

Received a free sample of the loose highlighter in Angel Wings with my order and a handwritten note. If there was a few things that could be improved with this order, it would be a packing slip included as well as labels on the products. The backs of the metal pans were just bare so I had to go online and see what looks like what and stick little labels on them myself.
My second Virus Insanity Order came in October 14th. This is from the 36 colors that will be discontinued so everything was 40% off! I am always out for a good deal, so how could I pass this up? Plus, Virus Insanity makes some really interesting colors.

First order from B'ellegant Cosmetics. They just added duochrome eyeshadows to their line. This order also arrived October 14th. I used this liquid lipstick called Fall Photoshoot in this look. This color and this formula is phenomenal!

NOTES:
  • Oil control was 7 out of 10. Not bad. First time using the Flower Beauty EE foundation, mixed it with two other foundations for a good color match. The mixture blended out beautifully and with no effort. Light medium coverage. Still looked great at the end of the night, but I did also use a new setting powder as well as a new setting spray so those might have contributed to the lasting power as well. Will continue testing with different combos.
  • First time trying a liquid lipstick from B'ellegant Cosmetics. Fall Photoshoot is a beautiful shade, especially appropriate for this time of year....[chuckle] really, I think it's  quite funny when people say stuff like that, "appropriate for a certain season"...honestly, I wear whatever color on my face & lips based on my mood regardless of the season that we're currently in....it just so happens that these warmer and darker shades are often associated with the autumn season when colors change. Getting off topic here. The liquid lipstick formula is beautiful and soft, sets to a matte finish...just so beautiful and comfortable to wear. Does not accentuate the lines in my lips....AND...the best part is that it does not stain for such a dark color, which is awesome because I love ease of removal when it comes to any kind of makeup. If a product requires a lot of work to remove, chances are, I will be less likely to apply it in the first place...that's how I roll.
  • First time using the Flower Beauty loose powder. This brand is exclusive to Wal-Mart. I picked it up after Casey Holmes mentioned it in one of her latest drugstore makeup first impressions. The powder runs about $10 and change after tax. Definitely provides a flawless finish, so finely milled, and the color is really nice for my light olive complexion. It. Is. Absolutely. Beautiful! It might replace my current self-made-powder-batch. I can tell I am going to really enjoy using this setting powder.
  • Got this deluxe sample Laura Geller baked blush in a recent Ulta purchase. Note to self: totally worth it. I will let the pictures tell the story. Very nice perfecting finish on the skin.
  • [sigh] This tarte aqua-gel eyeliner. I got one a while ago from the True Blood palette and it is the same story. The formula is so soft.....too soft. It makes gliding on the eyelids effortless, but because it is so soft, I need to use a super light hand, otherwise it just gets everywhere....the texture is kind of like warm room temperature butter, so it just get smooshy too easily. I know smooshy is not a word, but I think I needed something to describe the aftermath.
  • Got a sample of the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow gel recently from an Ulta purchase, which was perfect since I am about the run out of my Milani brow gel. Ehh, it's a brow gel. It does what it is suppose to do. I would not shell out the extra money just for the brand name. The Milani gel works just as well. I also picked up a NYX control freak brow gel to test out, will be giving that one a shot and compare it to the ABH one. I have a feeling it will not be that different.

Cranberry Mojito

Beauty Escape Cosmetics Highlighter: Pumpkin King (the beauty is not being translated across the camera, 'tis a really beautiful sheen, not blinding...that might be why it is not showing up as evident in the photo)

It is about time that I started using that Urban Decay palette, two shades down, and (don't even bother counting)....um, many more to go.....

NOTES:
  • Oil control was 5 out of 10. This is the first time in a while that I haven't created a foundation concoction and just wore one foundation alone. This is also my very first time using the Becca Aqua foundation. It has a very dewy finish, which is probably why it did not hold up against my natural face oils by the end of the night. That said, my foundation didn't look patchy at the end of the night, just very very dewy, more so than I would like. The shade is workable, definitely not a perfect match, but I cannot go one lighter or one darker in this line. I will have to mix this with a oil controlling foundation for better results or try it alone again when the weather gets colder.
  • This is my second time using the Touchofglambeauty eyeshadow palette and both times, the shadow formula has been consistent, will definitely have to use more...but at the moment I only do makeup once a week and I can only have so many colors and in type of finishes on my eyes/face. From my two uses, I can definitely say that you get the best results from using a tacky base such as a glitter glue or fyrinnae's pixie epoxy. I also use my fingers to pat the color on as opposed to swiping/patting with a brush. Also, the color payoff is excellent. What you see is definitely what you get.
  • I FINALLY got around to using my Urban Decay Reloaded palette since I received it weeks ago....I don't even remember how many weeks anymore. I was impressed by the two shades that I used. The color payoff is great on these two shades and they blend out really nicely while holding their own. I will definitely have to use other shades and see how they perform....[to myself] isn't that the same story with all of your other new/unused items? [sigh] so many options, so little time and space on my face....
  • Now that I have given the Loreal lash primer a couple of uses, I have to say I really enjoy it. It is just as good as the Tarte Opening Act Lash Primer but much more economically friendly.
  • I am also really enjoying the Maybelline falsies mascara now that the formula has had some time to dry out a bit.
  • The Beauty Escape Cosmetics Highlighter in Pumpkin King is beau-ti-ful. Oh my! Oh my! It is not a blinding kind of highlight, but a rather gorgeous sheen that is not your typical gold champgne because of the peachiness and pinkiness to it. I LIKE it.
  • My very first lip glossaries in Gemma and I do not regret it. The color [gasp, satisfied sigh], the finish [satisfied sigh]....I might just have to get some more.

NOTES:
  • Oil control was 6 out of 10. Tried mixing the Born This Way with a luminous foundation this time and it does perform better over dry patches of skin, however oil control factor decreased. I looked super duper dewy by the end of the night.
  • This is my second time trying out the J. Cat Beauty Soft Matte Lip Cooler and I have to say I am really digging the formula. It dries down and wears comfortably throughout the day, also fades away very gracefully. Definitely not transfer proof, but I would rather that than the feeling of discomfort on the lips.
  • I think I need to play with the MR Aqua Seal Liquid Primer a little bit more to find the best way to use it. I have been using it as a mixing medium to make my liner paste, but I find this particular formula tends to clump up the mixture and dry rather quickly, which gives me little play time. I will try just patting the solution on top of finished product and see what that does for me. I just need to experiment with this product a little more.

NOTES:
  • Oil control was 8 out of 10. Pretty impressed. One drawback was I did see some of my dry patches emphasized even at the end of the night when my natural oils had come through. Maybe I will try pairing the Born This Way with a more luminous finish foundation to see if I can reduce the dry-patch-clinging-ness factor some other time.
  • First time using the Makeup Revolution Aqua Seal Liquid Eye Primer. Seemed to perform ok. The color I used it with was not the darkest shade ever and was kind of iridescent, so it was kind of hard to see if fading was an issue. However, I did enjoy the fact that the solution applied with no sensation aka no irritation. The Darling Girl Superstar Serum does burn a little bit going on, but only for a mere second and I have no irritation from that either....it's just more preferable to not have feeling any kind of slight burning upon application. Anyway, I will keep testing the Aqua Seal and see how it stands up. So far, so good. It's also super affordable which is always a plus in my book.
